Xbox One has had its price cut in the UK again and is now available for £299.99, down from the previous price tag of £329.99. Microsoft however are saying that this price door isn’t an official price drop but rather a “UK-only retail promotion”. The same terms were used when the Xbox One received another price cut last September so this new price looks set to stay.
Speaking to various news outlets, a Microsoft spokesperson has said, “This is a UK-only retail promotion and offers great value for fans looking to buy an Xbox One ahead of the launch of 2015’s highly-anticipated games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Batman: Arkham Knight, along with Xbox exclusives such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6 and Halo 5: Guardians.”
You can purchase the Xbox One for under £300 at many UK retailers, including GAME where you can choose between Ori and the Blind Forest or Forza 5 GOTY. The console doesn’t come with the Kinect sensor however.
The Xbox One was originally available for £429.99 when the console launched back in November 2013. This is the fourth time Microsoft’s console has had its price cut, with the last cut coming in September 2014 when the price was dropped to £329.99.
Sony’s PlayStation 4 however has kept its official RRP of £349.99.
