Xbox One Launch Game Digital Prices Confirmed
The Xbox One Game Store is now live, which has revealed the prices of the digital games available at launch for Xbox One. The first thing you will notice is the price difference between a first and third party title.
Third party titles such as FIFA 14, Assassin’s Creed 4 and Battlefield 4 all carry a £54.99 price tag. Call of Duty Ghosts, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2K14 and Need for Speed: Rivals also cost £54.99
While first party games such as Forza 5 and Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 are slightly cheaper at the more respectable price of £44.99.
However it wouldn’t be Microsoft without having one game ridiculously overpriced? Well that award goes to Zoo Tycoon, costing you no more than £49.99. And if you want to get your hands on Angry Birds: Star Wars you’ll be forking out £35.19. Even though this is next-gen, is Zoo Tycoon really worth that much of your cash?
Overall though, the prices on the digital store aren’t much different to what you can expect to pay at retailers such as GAME. Unfortunately Xbox One games are costing at least 25% more on average than their 360 counterparts, so you won’t be saving much, if at all if you head to a retailer rather than the Xbox One Game Store, as would have been the choice given the overinflated prices of Games on Demand on Xbox 360.
