Valve Beta Testers now receiving Steam Machines

Three hundred Beta Testers were selected to participate in Valve’s first distribution of their new ‘console’, the Steam Machine. These devices are now arriving in the lucky few’s houses, following the launch of SteamOS on Friday. Below you can find an unboxing video of one of these consoles, which comes in a crafty box decorated similarly to Valve’s teaser site for their announcement of SteamOS, Steam Machines and the Steam Controller.

The box contains the Machine itself, a controller, 1 x HDMI Cable, 1 x USB Cable for charging the controller, a USB and a power cable. There is very little in the form of manuals, or warranties, mainly due to the fact that these are prototype devices being sent to the select few people as decided by Valve.

The Steam Machine is planned to launch in the first half of 2014, and I personally look forward to how the Steam OS, and the Machine itself can change the face of living room gaming for ever.
