Unannounced Xbox One Kinect Game From Harmonix Cancelled

Self-described “internet extraordinaire” Superannuation has revealed via Kotaku that an unannounced Xbox One Kinect title from Rock Band and Dance Central developer Harmonix has, according to a senior level designer’s Linkedln page, been cancelled for unknown reasons. Whether the game was another Dance Central has not been confirmed, although Superannuation believes that it seems more likely that it was the unannounced new IP that the developer recruited a combat designer to work on in 2012. The job listing for the position was to work on “a project that is unlike anything Harmonix has ever done before.” Given nothing else has been said of this project and the fact that Harmonix has never before made a game featuring combat suggests this was their riskiest plan for development.

Harmonix is still however, working on Fantasia: Music Evolved, a Disney themed music rhythm game exclusive to Xbox One Kinect as well as other unannounced projects.
