Twitch enables mobile game streaming
A new SDK from Twitch will allow mobile game developers to implement a streaming system direct into their apps.
As part of Twitch’s apparent attempts to take over the internet, their new iOS and Android SDK will allow mobile game streaming directly to Twitch. The SDK, which was released on Wednesday, also gives users the option to broadcast video of themselves via their mobile’s front camera whilst audio commentary may be recorded from internal or external microphones. Twitch have also announced that their mobile app, which allows users to view streams and join in with the chats, has been downloaded and installed on iOS and Android platforms more than 10 million times.
With mobile gaming becoming a series platform for developers, it makes sense for Twitch to capitalise on this and ensure their presence on the market sooner rather than later.
