Playstation Now game rentals spotted on PS Store

It looks as though the game rental service for Playstation Now has been leaked on the Playstation Store, suggesting that games may be rentable for one, seven or thirty days.

The ability to stream and rent PS3 titles is currently in a closed beta, but will soon be coming with the launch of ‘Playstation Now’. However, a rentable version of Catherine has been spotted on the Playstation Store, seemingly showing the ability to rent the game for one, seven or thirty days. This functionality is clearly not available yet, but it seems to suggest that this is the kind of functionality that will be available with the coming of ‘Playstation Now’.

‘Playstation Now’ is a technology that will enable subscribers to stream PS3 games to their Playstation devices, Sony Bravia TVs, and in the future, other Sony and non-Sony devices. Customers will be able to rent individual games or pay for the full library of games and rent whenever they please with a yet to be confirmed subscription fee.

Sony have officially reported that the technology should be arriving to North America in Summer 2014, but will not be coming to Europe until early 2015. This is something we can certainly expect to see more of in the coming months.
