Mojang has announced that the PS3 version of its hugely popular game Minecraft has sold over one million copies on the platform. Minecraft launched on PlayStation 3 just over a month ago on December 17, with Mojang promising PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions later in 2014.
Speaking of Minecraft’s success on PSN, developer Daniel Kaplan said, “It is crazy considering the game was released just before Christmas last year, We are super grateful for the support and we are very thankful for your dedication and I hope you will like the future updates we have planned for you.”
The PC version has sold just under 14 million copies worldwide, with the Xbox 360 version not far behind with sales of around 10 million. With launches for other platforms planned later in the year, sales of Minecraft look set to continue to rise.
