There are no plans to bring Minecraft to Nintendo’s Wii U, according to the game’s creator Markus “Notch” Persson, despite the hugely successful title being released on the PlayStation 3 not long ago.
Notch took to Twitter to say that he was “not aware of any plans to create a Wii U version of Minecraft”. He then followed up the statement with another tweet, saying “I agree a Wii U version would make sense. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.”
This is not surprising considering that Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, is currently working to bring their game to the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The continuing lack of third party support for the Wii U is still a concern for both Nintendo and Wii U owners however.
