Microsoft shows off Xbox One exclusives, bundles, and gameplay at Gamescom 2014
Microsoft has kicked off Gamescom 2014 with the reveal of a choice of new bundles as well as first looks at exclusive gameplay at their conference earlier today.
The conference saw gameplay from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Ori and the Blind Forest as well as first time gameplay from Quantum Break.
Microsoft also announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be an exclusive for the Xbox One.
The Tomb Raider creators explained their actions in a blog post on Tumblr saying: “We believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft. This doesn’t mean that we’re walking away from our fans who only play on PlayStation or on PC.”
One major aspect to the conference was the reveal of new console bundles including a Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bundle with a 1TB hard drive, a white Xbox One bundle with Sunset Overdrive and a FIFA 15 bundle for Europe.
The Halo was also a major part of the conference with 343 Industries announcing the brand new Halo Channel, an interactive channel where people can watch and intract with other Halo players as well as integrated Twitch features. A date for the Halo 5: Guardians beta was also announced and takes place on December 29, 2014 through January 17, 2015.
The conference finished off with the announcement of a new feature for Xbox One owners which will allow them to pre-order and pre-download titles with the first being FIFA 15 and Forza Horizon 2 later this year.
Gamescom 2014 will also feature conferences from Sony, EA and others throughout the next few days.
