Latest Xbox Live Update removes Microsoft Points.
The latest Xbox Live Update removes Microsoft Points completely from the purchasing process on the platform. This comes after news of this coming in a future update, which was announced at the Xbox One’s E3 showcase. Microsoft Points have been a part of the Xbox Live Ecosystem since its beginning, and its to the great relief of gamer’s that it is finally being removed, and replaced with the use of local currency.
The main advantages of this change include the ease of use, compared to having to add specific values of Microsoft Points to your account, along with better price equality globally. Microsoft Point prices used to be a global standard, and thus created price gaps in countries (for example, Australia’s Payday 2 cost $60.00 instead of the US $35).
This update should be live in all parts of the world, however we will update this article if necessary on any countries without the Xbox Live update.
