Every Indie Game Coming to the PS4

It seems like every other day another new indie game gets announced for the Playstation 4. Not only is the list of confirmed titles is getting to be quite long and I am also willing to bet many of us aren’t familiar with a lot of them. So I have decided to put together a list of every currently confirmed indie game coming to Sony’s new console along with some information regarding each one! Every title is listed in alphabetical order along with a trailer. If any games are MIA please let me know in the comments. Now, sit back and gush at all the awesome, charming, and creative indie goodness that awaits us come November, 15th!


1001 Spikes

  • Developer: 8Bits Fanatics
  • A true homage to the classic 8-bit games of old, 1001 Spikes is an intense platformer designed to provide the player with an enormous challenge. You only have 1001 lives available to finish it so make them count!

Abe’s Oddysee: New n’ Tasty

  • Developer: Just Add Water/Oddworld Inhabitants
  • I bet we all thought we’ve seen the last of this franchise huh? New n’ Tasty is a remake of the classic platformer and comes complete with all new content! Those who never got to experience this title when it launched years ago shouldn’t miss out!

Assault Android Cactus

  • Developer: Witch Beam
  • Assault Android Cactus is an exciting sci-fi, twin stick shooter. The game features characters and an art style like something you saw on Saturday mornings growing up.


  • Developer” Compulsion Games
  • In this platformer/puzzler you assume the role of a sad little girl’s imaginary friend. The game’s biggest draws are its art direction and the game mechanic in which you switch back forth between a 2D and 3D plain.

Cosmic Star Heroine

  • Developer: Zeboyd
  • Created with in a classic 2D pixelated style, Cosmis Star Heroine is a turned based RPG set in a sci-fi universe where you assume the role of a legendary secret agent.

Doki-Doki Universe

  • Developer: HumaNature
  • In this delightful adventure game, you play as an out of date robot who is supposed to be getting recalled scrapped. With the help of a strange alien named, Alien Jeff, you travel all over the cosmos in an attempt to prove to your manufacturing company that you have too much “humanity” to become scrap metal!

Don’t Starve

  • Developer: Klei
  • In Don’t Starve, you play as a scientist named, Wilson, who has become trapped in a strange wilderness world. It’s up to you to learn how to survive in this harsh environment if you ever want to Wilson to find his way home!

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture

  • Developer: The Chinese Room
  • All we know about this game is that it is a post-apocalyptic adventure from the developers of Dear Esther. If the debut trailer is anything to go by, we are in for a very grim and very dark experience.


  • Developer: Polytron
  • This is one of the games that put indie developers on the map! In this charming platformer you control the adorable little, Fez, and make your way through a number of intricate and creative platforming worlds.

Galak-Z: The Dimensional

  • Developer: 17-Bit
  • Introducing a classic arcade-style shoot-em up! Not much else to say really. Just jump in and enjoy this one!

Guns of Icarus Online

  • Developer: Muse Games
  • Guns of Icarus is a persistent online shooter set in a distant future, steampunk version of Earth. Players will choose one of three classes and work together to conquer their foes in large scale, gunship combat.


  • Developer: Arrowhead Game Studios
  • In this hardcore top-down shooter, 1-4 players control a squad of space marines tasked with seemingly impossible challenges. Teamwork and careful play is a must if you hope to survive!


  • Developer: Honeyslug
  • Honestly, I’m not sure what the deal with this game is. Sometimes it looks like a rhythm game, sometimes it looks to be a bit of a platformer, and other times it looks like something completely unique. Flower and Flow would be the closest comparison I can make.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

  • Developer: Dennation Games
  • Introducing the sequel to the insanely over the top top-down shooter and cult classic, Hotline Miami. What else needs to be said? Now grab your animal mask and go do something you’ll regret!

Mercenary Kings

  • Developer: Tribute Games
  • From the creators of the Scott Pilgrim Versus The World: This game brings a new 2D shoot-em-up style in the vain of games like Contra.


  • Developer: Mojang
  • The ultimate virtual lego set! The worldwide phenomenon will be making its way to the PS4.


  • Developer: Metanet
  • N++ is a sequel to the popular series of action platformers. No word on if the others will be making an appearance on Sony’s new console.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

  • Developer: Young Horses
  • One of the quirkiest games, ever, will be making an appearance on the PS4. In this game, you control an octopus, who nobody realizes is an octopus, trying to live the life of a normal person.

Ray’s the Dead

  • Developer: Ragtag Studio
  • In this title you take control of a man named Ray who is trying to figure out why he came back as a zombie and how he ended up dead in the first place. It blends action, puzzles, and even stealth elements to create one of the most unique games I’ve seen in quite some time.


  • Developer: Tequilla Works
  • Rime is a presumably open-world adventure game that looks like a cross between Ico and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Not much is known about this one but the ending of the trailer seemed to hint that the game is far more sinister than it initially appears.

Road Not Taken

  • Developer: Spry Fox
  • Road Not Taken is a constantly changing puzzle game set in the aftermath of a massive snow storm.

Rogue Legacy

  • Developer: Cellar Door Games
  • Rogue Legacy is an old-school action, platformer with RPG elements akin games like the old Castlevanias. The game also features perm-death so when one of your heroes falls in battle, one of their children or their children’s children must take up the sword.

Samurai Gunn

  • Developer: Teknopants
  • Introducing a new two to four player brawler similar to titles like Super Smash Bros. Except here, one hit means death. Skill, concentration, and tight reflexes are imperative for success! This might also, sadly, be the closest we’ll ever get to a new Bushido Blade.


  • Developer: Chucklefish
  • Starbound is a side-scrolling action game set in a massive, open galaxy for you to explore. The game involves recruiting crew members, building bases, customizing ships, and so much more!

Super Motherload

  • Developer: XGen Studios
  • Set on Mars in strange new take on The Cold War, Super Motherload, is a puzzle game that where you have to collect resources while avoiding dangerous hazards and traps.

Switch Galaxy Ultra

  • Developer: Atomicom
  • Switch Galaxy Ultra is a lightning fast racing game where you have to avoid all kinds of hazards in addition to other racers. Given the recent closure of Sony’s Studio Liverpool, this is probably the closest we’ll get to having a new Wipeout game on the PS4.

Secret Ponchos

  • Developer: Switchblade Monkey
  • Secret Ponchos would best be described as a cross between a shooter and a fighting game with a wild west setting.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

  • Developer: Nicalis
  • In this strange, dark, yet rather charming title, you play as Isaac as he makes his way through his basement which happens to be full of all kinds of frightening and psychotic enemies. The gameplay is something of an action-RPG-shooter for lack of a better description.

The Witness

  • Developer: Jonathan Blow
  • The Witness is an open-world puzzle game set on a mysterious island. In order to see everything the mysterious setting as to offer, you have to conquer each puzzle one at a time.


  • Developer: Supergiant Games
  • From the developers of the acclaimed action-RPG, Bastion, comes Transistor. Transistor is an isometric action-RPG with strong puzzle elements set in a fantasy-like science fiction universe.

Velocity 2X

  • Developer: FuturLab
  • Introducing another excellent shoot-em-up. Velocity 2X features faced-paced arcade style shooting with exciting and unpredictable level design.


  • Developer: Mike Bithell
  • Volume is a stealth game where you make your way through maze-like levels both big and small. The game also features a level maker and the ability to share your creations with others.

Wasteland Kings

  • Developer: Vlambeer
  • Wasteland Kings is a top-down classic shoot-em-up.
