Although Japanese developer From Software are busy preparing for the release of Dark Souls 2 this March, a rumour has come out of NeoGaf that a spin-off of the 2009 PlayStation 3 exclusive Demon’s Souls could also be in the works. The rumour came from a NeoGaf user known as DemonNite.
“Sony haven’t won anything and they won’t think they won either,” DemonNite wrote on a popular thread on NeoGaf, “It’s going to be another generation of hard work and great games.”
Another user replied to this by saying “Should I bet my soul on it?”
DemonNite then wrote in response “If by souls you mean another PS4 exclusive Souls spinoff then maybe ? ; )”
This isn’t the first time a PlayStation 4 exclusive direct successor to Demon’s Souls has been rumoured. In November of last year another user from NeoGaf known as famousmortimer, the same guy that correctly leaked the Driveclub’s 2013 delay, suggested that Demon’s Souls 2 could be in development. Famousmortimer wasn’t convinced on it though, saying “There’s things I’m certain about. This isn’t one of them.”
All of this is unconfirmed speculation however, and, like all rumours, should be taken with a grain of salt.
