Blizzard delays Warcraft movie to 2016

Whether you did or did not know that there was to be a movie based on the majorly popular real-time strategy game, it seems as though the world will have to wait a little longer for this fantasy-flick.

In a recent Twitter post from World of Warcraft, Blizzard has changed the film’s release date from it’s original debut on December 18, 2015, to March 11, 2016. It is believed that this change was made to avoid the mass competition of another anticipated movie that would have also shared the December 18th release-Star Wars: Episode VII. In most cases, this was probably a brilliant move by Blizzard, given that it would be hard, or nearly impossible to compete with such a big name like Star Wars.

Although little information has been given about the film, it was revealed at Blizzcon 2013 by Duncan Jones, Director of the film, that the movie would be based upon orcs and humans, building off of classic Warcraft lore, as well as including such iconic characters as Lothar and Durotan.

Either you are a fan of classic Warcraft, World of Warcraft, or both, it will be interesting to see the developments of the film in the coming years.
