Battlefield 4 Multiplayer Modes Revealed

Developer DICE have revealed the seven multiplayer game modes available for Battlefield 4 upon launch. Each game mode will be playable across 10 maps, with each map supporting each mode.

Conquest Mode returns in Battlefield 4 and is one of the trademark game modes of the franchise. Conquest is designed for 24 players on Xbox 360 and PS3, and 64 players on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Domination also makes a return, and will support 20 players across all platforms. Along with Conquest Mode, Domination will be available for the Battlefield 4 Beta launching October 1-15.

Team Deathmatch made for 20 players across all platforms, Rush, which is designed for 24 players on PS3 and Xbox 360 and 32 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and Squad Deathmatch, 16 players across all platforms are also featured.

There are two new game modes in Battlefield 4 however. The first one is Obliteration, which involves both teams fighting to pick up the bomb, drop it off at one of their opponent’s three objectives, arm it, and destroy the objective. EA stated, “since there’s only one bomb at a time, you will often find yourself going from attacker to defender in the blink of an eye.” This game mode will support 24 players on PS3 and Xbox 360 and 32 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The second new game mode is Defuse, and features 5 v 5 on all platforms. Each player gets one life per round, with teams winning by eliminating the enemy team, or arming and detonating a military objective that they own.

The Battlefield 4 PC Beta will be made available for pre-load September 29, with the official beta starting October 1, running through to October 15.
