While rumors have been circulating for sometime now about Ubisoft releasing two Assassin’s Creed games this year, with Ubisoft announcing Assassin’s Creed Unity back in March and now today Assassin’s Creed Rogue announced today, the rumors hold true.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue puts you in control of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin turned Templar. The story will showcase Shay’s slow progression into an Assassin and the actions that lead him to become a Templar and fight and hunt his past allies. The game takes place during the French Revolution, like its counterpart Assassin’s Creed Unity. The game’s website says the story will be “the darkest chapter yet in the Assassin’s Creed franchise.”
Also announced is the return of naval combat from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Added to the style of combat are new tactics, such as fighting off Assassins as they try board your ship, and new weapons, such as burning oil and the puckle gun.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is set to be released on November 11 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
