Assassin’s Creed IV has shipped 10 million units

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has shipped around 10 million units as of December 31, 2013. Its predecessor Assassin’s Creed 3 had sold roughly 2 million more copies in the same time frame, although Ubisoft expect sales of ACIV to reach the 11 million mark by March. However sales of the game at the start of 2014 have been stronger than that of AC3 for the same period at the start of 2013.

“Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag performed particularly well, reinforcing the franchise’s long-term potential and therefore its upcoming iteration,” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in a prepared statement. “This robust showing was achieved thanks to the excellence of our teams, our extensive development capacities and the efficiency of our Lead and Associate studio structure.”

Guillemot went on to add, “We expect to reach around 11 million by the end of March, a remarkable performance close to the high end of our plan, Pricing was very strong, almost on par with last year’s level. We are extremely proud of this achievement notably in the face of a challenging environment and an exceptionally competitive context.”

I have always been an avid gamer and have combined my passion with my love for writing, hoping to be able to share my views and opinions to the world! So what better way than to start JumpToGamer? My favourite genres are RPG's and Strategy games, as well as Shooters and Sports games such as FIFA. I guess that covers most games then?! I play both consoles and PC, however PC is just edging it for me!
