Amazon Acquires Double Helix Games
Amazon has confirmed their acquisition of gaming studio Double Helix who are most recently known for their development of Killer Instinct and Strider. According to TechCrunch, the deal was for both talent and IP but no financial terms have been disclosed. This news further fuels rumors of a future Amazon console in the works and Amazon has told TechCrunch:
“Amazon has acquired Double Helix as part of our ongoing commitment to build innovate games for customers.”
Amazon has already dodged rumors of a console release but this won’t do much to silence speculation.
It surely sounds like something big is on the horizon and it just may bring another console into the fray and into the hands of consumers.
